Akhilesh Yadav hints to form an alliance with Congress and proclaims to get 300+ seats

What is happening in Uttar Pradesh?

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has said that if his party and the Congress form a coalition in the state, they could fetch 300 seats in the Assembly elections of 2017. However, there is a question mark on whether such a combination will happen at all, although the possibility cannot be ruled out.

Is it a gift or just to lure UP votes?

Ahead of the crucial Assembly election in the state, Akhilesh Yadav government today approved the implementation of recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. With the decision, over 22 lakh state government employees and pensioners will see a hike of around 15-20% in their income.
A decision in this regard was passed by the state cabinet. The approval of seventh pay commission recommendation may help Akhilesh in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

By the way, what Akhilesh said ?

The UP chief minister was quoted by DNA as saying: "Though Samajwadi are going to form the majority government in the state if alliance takes place, it will win over 300 seats. The final decision in this regard will be taken by party national president." Clearly, Akhilesh, who is his party's chief ministerial candidate, has high hopes for the party in the upcoming election.
